Audition Procedure

Auditions for new applicants will be held in late August or at a time arranged with the director. To arrange your audition time, contact Jane Montgomery at 434-384-0754. Auditions will consist of the following:

(Auditions for Fall 2010 for new members will be held on Thursday, August 19th in the choir room at Peakland Unite Methodist Church, 4434 Boonsboro Road, Lynchburg, beginning at 6 p.m., and scheduled every 15 minutes.  Please use phone number above, or e-mail director at janesmontgomery@comcast.net )

Sing vocaleases to determine range (these will be practiced at rehearsals)
Sing several scales, unaccompanied
Sing a short melodic phrase after hearing it once
Sing your part of a short selection with other harmony parts
Sing a prepared piece - can be as simple as a hymn or folk song

Fees

Fees -$40.00 per semester - $80.00 per year. These fees cover:

1. Cost of music
2. Accompanist
3. Instrumentalists for concerts
4. Publicity, mailings, administrative costs
5. Donations to venues for use of facility for rehearsals, concerts, etc.


Performance Apparel

Formal performance tops for new members will be ordered as soon as possible after the beginning of each semester. Member will be responsible for the $70.00 cost plus shipping. Payment (if requested) may be spread out over several months.
